Paige at the Jersey Shore

W1The picture I am submitting is of my 8 month old daughter, Paige Elizabeth, her first time ever at the beach. It was 4th of July weekend at the New Jersey shore. She did NOT like the freezing cold water of the ocean, so opted to play in the sand all afternoon. A great deal of sand ended up in her mouth and diaper, but she loved it! We will always look at this picture and think back at what a wonderful day we had her first time at the beach when she was just a tiny baby!

Alexander's first hair cut

W2This is a picture of my 21-month old son Alexander getting his first hair cut from Fred the barber.  Alexander is a miracle child.  He was born 4 months premature, weighing only 1 lb. 13 oz and 14 inches long.  He spent 3 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and there were many times we were unsure if he was going to make it.   Alex is doing amazingly well for coming into the world so very early and so incredibly tiny.   He has a funny sense of humor, the cutest smile in the universe and is smart and charming.

The barber who cut Alex's hair has also cut my husband's hair his entire life, my husband's father's hair, and his father's hair.   Alex has four male cousins and a younger brother who all got their hair cut the same day.   Two of the cousins live in Arizona and were visiting.  It was a very fun time for everyone, especially Dad, since he got to see another generation get their hair cut at Fred's.

I would love to have a Bagette with this image on it!!

It came out perfectly...

W3_1Before John and I became husband and wife we took a week's vacation to Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
We always need to vacation in a spot that is close to water.  Maine was not an exception.  I took this shot as John was riding in on a wave. It came out perfectly...including the seagull.  What you don't see is the look of panic on his face when he realized I was standing in the way with our new $500 digital camera.  I had no chance.  He crashed right into me.  I was drenched and sandy but somehow the camera made it through.  The shot was completely worth it....so was the vacation!
